Welcome

Hendred Vineyard is on the sloping ground to the west of the village of East Hendred, one of the spring line villages in the Vale of the White Horse, Oxfordshire, England.  Over the years, award-winning still and sparkling wines have been produced from grapes grown here.

The wine a reflects the excellent ‘terrior’ driven by the nutrient rich soil, sunny and breezy aspect provided by the Oxfordshire countryside. Add the boutique vineyard philosophy of hands on, attentive farming and the product is superbly clean and succulent grapes. The quality of the wine speaks for itself. Set in the characterful Oxfordshire village of East Hendred, is one of the oldest English vineyards and continues to produce fine wines for the local community to enjoy.

The vineyard was originally established over fifty years ago, by the pioneering McKinnon family.  It flourished with help from local expert Biagio Grillo and now covers approximately three acres consisting of Pinot Noir, Seyval Blanc, Madeleine Angevine and Bacchus varieties.  Eileen and David Bell and family continue to develop the vineyard with Philippe Desaint, originally from the South of France, who brings dedication and creativity to maintenance and improvement projects on the site.
